First note: our incredible students designed this website so I didn't choose to use quotes about me on RateMyProfessor, but it's funny.

I don't have a job; I collaborate with amazing young people. I learn every day. I facilitate incredible conversations. I watch students build transformational projects. Not bad. And I have been doing this for...let's just say decades - from high schoolers to Emzy and Jaeds (my 4th graders) to grad students to residents at the Men's Central Jail. Whenever I think I may leave teaching, teaching won't leave me. We simply can't quit each other. I have a bunch of degrees and education, but I can honestly say that I have learned more from my students and from making sure that I don't embarrass myself in front of them than from any schooling I have endured in my life. 

Now, I am hooked. My mission is to ensure that every young person I meet knows they have an opportunity to pursue their passions. It's worked for me thus far.
